When you're good, they're good.

Personal share

So my Aunt calls me out of the blue the other day.
And she says, Dawn, you know what? I say, “what”?
She says, “you’ve changed”.

Knowing my Aunt I was hesitant to ask her to elaborate. No need.
”You’ve more “happy-go-lucky” (her words 😏). “Your personality is better and I now like when you’re around.” Understand my hesitation?

She continued, “Before it seemed like you just came and didn’t really want to be here”.

I’m bracing myself. Go with the flow Dawn, stay open minded. This is her experience.
I really didn’t see the difference she spoke of. Stayed open and curious.

So I ask when did she notice? “A few months ago”, she says.

So I start racking my brain to correlate the change with the timeframe?

My new mind-set for my self-care journey!

  • 30 lb weight loss

  • Putting me first

  • Clean eating and gut healing

  • Non-negotiable Conditioning: hot yoga and walks

Actually making me and what I enjoy, a priority.

Hmmm, seems like there’s something to this.

When you change,
the world responds accordingly.

Now sometimes the responses may not be pleasant but necessary.

So always a win-win.

Fortunately this response was a pleasant place for both of us.

Moral:
When we make ourselves a priority,
we are better for those around us.
